Vikings (10-4) win three to open MW Qualifier
  
   Homewood Area Small Fry (10-4) swept three games in Kenosha, Wis. this weekend to share first place with Chicago Heights following the opening weekend of the Midwest Qualifier for the 42nd annual International Small Fry Tournament in Orlando, Fla. on April 5-8. The Vikings will host the second end of the qualifier this weekend at the Homewood Village Hall, with the schedule on the Midwest page.
   Homewood 54, Highwood 39- The Vikings avenged an earlier loss by racing out to a onetime 22-point lead and outrebounding the Heat, 38-18, as Chauncey Tounsel grabbed eight boards and Devin Harris seven. Chris Austin topped Homewood with 12 points and five rebounds, while Micah Bradford tallied eight points and Devon Dotson (three steals) and Jailen Williams each added seven.
   Homewood 62, Evanston 43- Eleven different players scored, paced by 14 points from Brandon Hurt, 12 by Austin (four steals) and seven from Bradford (four steals). Dotson finished with four assists and Tounsel ripped down a team-high eight rebounds.
   Homewood 51, Ford Heights 31- Balanced scoring saw Austin and Hurt notch nine points, Bradford and Jon Spesia added eight points, and Dotson chipped in five. Spesia also grabbed seven rebounds and Hurt collected three steals for Homewood, which jumped to a 29-7 halftime command.
   The Vikings are vying for their third straight Midwest qualifier crown (and record 11th overall), as Homewood has won 15 straight qualifying contests
